She's Moving!!

YAY!!! I'm SOOOO EXCITED!!! Courtney is moving HERE in three weeks!!!!!! I can't wait!! It's going to be so much fun! She is moving earlier so she can play basketball with us. It's going to be awesome! My dad is going to go pick her up in OKC. I don't get to go though because that is the same weekend as D-now. But that's ok because that leaves more room in the van for her stuff. ha ha.

Mime and B-day

Mime went well this weekend. We had 3 performances, one on Saturday night and two on Sunday morning. I only messed up in little ways. I don't think I messed up in the last one though. One of the guys in the mime was shaking in his solo on Saturday night. But he did OK. Putting the make up on was kind of a hassle though. We had to be careful not to get it on our shirts. White make up and black shirts just don't mix.

On Sunday we were all glad that it was over and that none of us messed up too bad. I lost my voice on Friday so the whole weekend I sounded either like i was going through puberty or a cricket on helium. It was annoying. Everyone kept saying to me " well at least you're a mime." The first couple times it was funny, but after about the tenth time it was annoying.

My b-day went well too. There were 18 teenagers and who knows how many adults. We played basketball for a while. It was boys on girls. The boys beat us. Before the game i had set my earrings and my glasses on a air conditioning unit that was on the side. During the game a ball went wild and hit the unit and my glasses broke and I lost an earring. Which kind of stinks cause it was one of the earrings Courtney gave me.

After the ball game most of us went inside and played apples to apples. That was definitely interesting. Then I opened my presents and ate cake. I got a lot of really cool things. I got about $105 worth in gift cards, and $65 in cash. And I got several pairs of earrings and a couple of necklaces. And then after I opened my gifts we played spoons. Nobody got killed thankfully. Ha Ha.

Then about that time people started leaving. So all in all it was a good birthday. Except for me not really being able to talk. That did get annoying. But other than that it was awesome!

(side note: I didn't get my purity ring because when mom and dad went to go pick it up, they saw that it was not the right one so the guy had to reorder my ring. I should get it today)

Birthday

Yesterday I got my birthday presents from Courtney. They are awesome!!! There were four and I had to read the notes that went with them before I could open them. I love her sense of humor. You can tell our dads were brothers. The first gift was a book called For Young Women Only. It's really good. I definitely don't know as much about guys as I thought I did. I also got a bookmark with the book.
The second gift was a mix CD with songs that we both like and have inside jokes about. The third was a pair of earrings and a necklace that she mad for me! They are awesome! The necklace is a heart that has a ragged line down the middle. The earrings are spirals. Both the earrings and the necklace are made out of silver.
The last present was a sock monkey that she made for me. It came with a tag that said " Hello my name is: Van the Monkey and I'm the perfect boyfriend." I thought it was hilarious! I hope she gets to move here.

My parents are giving me a purity ring for my birthday. I've been wanting one forever it seems like. I got to pick it out yesterday. It's pretty! I'm so excited that my birhtday is tomorrow!! I can't wait! I also have my first mime performance tomorrow. I think it will go well.

tagged

I have been tagged by Auntie that i have to write 5 things that I have learned from blogging. Joy.
1 There are other people out there that also have too much time on their hands (or at least they put other things off like i do)
2 That every thing needs spell check!
3 Aunt Laura only post twice a a week, but gets mad when other people don't post EVERY DAY! (he he he)

4 That it is possible to be doing something and nothing at the same time

5 That I need more grammer lessons.

Christmas and Fireproof

Courtney and I were talking today and making plans for Christmas this year. So now the family ( or most of it anyways) will probably be coming to our house for Christmas!! How awesome is that?! I can't wait! It will be fun.

So I went and saw Fireproof this weekend. I really enjoyed it. I got to see it Friday night and Saturday afternoon. I thought to myself while watching it Friday " how awesome has God made America that we can watch a Christian movie in a public movie theater? that Christians can come together and celebrate our values in front of everyone? and that the Salvation message can be shared with everyone?" I think that God has blessed us immensely!

Yes I know I'm a dork..

Lately it seems to me that everyone thinks it is their duty to tell me just how much of a dork I am. I know I'm a dork, I'm doing me dead level best to change that. But there is only so much I can change without looking like an even bigger dork. For instance, Aunt Laura laughing at me (as usual)about the way I typed my last blog.
I try to sound sophisticated whenever I write, but that normally backfires, into me sounding like a five year old trying to describe something in such a way, that no one has any clue what on earth they are talking about. This happens to me often. Whenever I try talking about something that I find interesting I get weird looks. Even from Courtney, who can at times, tell exactly what I'm thinking.
It gets annoying. Maybe I'm the comic relief for the people around me. I guess that's a purpose. I don't mind making people smile, but I would prefer that it would be because I did something nice, not because I did something stupid. Oh well. At least I know how to laugh to myself. :)

Fall

So the concert last week was totally awesome! A bunch of our home school friends were there, so we weren't completely alone. Our parents didn't go cause they don't really like loud music. They approve of our music, they just don't like to listen to it themselves.
I'm so happy it is finally fall. Fall is my favorite season of the year, because the leaves start falling and it gets cooler and everything is just so beautiful. Also Fall means my birthday, the start of basketball, and the Holiday season. I'm so excited! My birthday is in a week and a half, and bball starts after that. It's going to be awesome. I also like Fall because there are more photo opportunities. you can get some really neat pictures of leaves and trees and nature. i'm hoping to eventualy get a good camera, right now all I have is camera that I bought second hand from a friend. The lense is scratched and it normally works ok unless I need to take pictures outside. Then you can see them.

But at least I have camera it's definietly better than nothing!

The Fair

Going to the fair today was fun. I got to do that instead of school work. The kids especially love going. We went animal hunting. Abbie absolutely loves animals, which is kind of funny in a way because she is such a girlie girl. All the kids love the animals.
I like seeing the photographs, it is always interesting to see what people take pictures of. I want to enter some of my pictures next year. Hopefully in all the categories, black and white, computer edited, and color.

clothes and cuteness

On Wednesday last week I got sick. It stunk! So I haven't posted because I really didn't have much to write about except how I felt that day and most of the time it was the same: Horrible. But now I am feeling much better! Now all I have is a cold. I can handle that.
Tomorrow I get to go to the fair with Aunt Laura & Co. ( you should trade mark that...)It should be fun. I always like seeing the photography exhibit. It's interesting to see how other people view the world. One of these years I'm going to enter it. The only problem I would have is deciding which picture to use.

Today after school I got to go to the thrift store. It was awesome. As usual. I found some really neat outfits. One of them made my mom go "whoa!" because it makes me look a lot older.

It's modest but I look more like I'm 19 than almost 17.

I want to change my wardrobe to a more sophisticated style than what I have now. I think for now I have enough clothes to do that. My birthday is coming up soon and so is Christmas. I can't wait! But what I really really want for my birthday is an itunes card. That would be totally awesome! Then I could get whatever songs I wanted without having to buy the whole cd!

Today at school the kids were showing me some new dress up stuff and Abbie had the cutest hat on!
and then she came out with this on

and then here is Nate with his pirate hat.

Drive Already!!!

Lately everyone has been after me to get my driver's license. It's kind of getting annoying. I know it would help everyone if I would get it, but I'm really in no rush. Because if I get one then I would have to pay for my own gas and help pay for insurance. And that would mean that I would have to get a full time job.

I don't want to get one right now because bball is next month and I'm trying to get caught up in school. So that maybe I can actually graduate on time. The main subject I'm behind on is math, which I hate. I don't understand it. The rules don't make any sense. One rule will apply for only this situation only if this other doesn't apply. It's extremely confusing!

YAY!

So Courtney told me today that she is thinking about moving here in the spring. That would be awesome!! I have been trying to talk her into moving ever since she left this summer. She would probably live with us. That would be cool. I can't wait to find out if she is or not.

the internet

1. I will have a cup of coffee in the morning and read my newspaper like I used to, before the Web.

2. I will eat breakfast with a knife and fork and not with one hand typing.

3. I will get dressed before noon.

4. I will make an attempt to clean the house, wash clothes, and plan dinner before even thinking of the Web.

5. I will sit down with pen and paper, and write a letter to those unfortunate few friends and family that are Web-deprived.

6. I will call someone on the phone to talk, who I cannot contact via the Web.

7. I will read a book...if I still remember how.

8. I will listen to those around me and their needs, and stop telling them to turn the TV down so I can hear the music on the Web.

9. I will not be tempted during TV commercials to check for email.

10. I will try and get out of the house at least once a week, if it is necessary or not.

11. I will remember that my bank is not forgiving if I forget to balance my checkbook because I was too busy on the Web.

12. Last, but not least, I will remember that I must go to bed sometime ... and the Web will always be there tomorrow. . . . ( but let me go check, just once more today .... )

Does this count as a paragraph?

busy, busy, ... dizzy!

So September is turning out to be a crazy month. Some girls from my church and I are starting a youth drama team and a girls Bible study on Sunday nights. But next month will be even busier. Basketball will be starting and the drama and Bible study will be starting off. Plus I'll have school and possibly work. But even though it seems like I'm complaining, I actually love being busy. It makes me feel like I'm doing something with my life.
Courtney says I'm lucky that I have things to do. She's bored out of her mind staying at home doing nothing but school work and cleaning the house. Oh and messing around on the computer. I should tell her she's lucky because she doesn't have to try and coordinate with her family what is going on. I really need to get my drivers license. It would help a lot.

September

So this is the first week of September. Where has the year gone? I mean just yesterday it was May! Now it's only a month until my 17Th birthday. I feel like everything is just rushing by at top speed. But I feel better than i did when i last posted.

Life is like a roller coaster. With tons of ups and downs. You just have to learn to expect that you won't stay happy forever. And you won't feel sad forever either. Like it says in Ecclesiastes 3 " there is a time and a season for everything." So that day i was just feeling low.But now I'm happy that its fall.

I love this time of year. The trees begin to change and the weather gets cooler. I can start wearing long sleeves again. Fall also means basketball. Which is one of my favorite things to do. Fall is the season my birthday falls into. So i have multiple reasons for liking it. School is also in the Fall. It's OK. I mean it is not my favorite thing in the world, but it's not the worst thing either. speaking of school i should probably get started on it.
