Yet more things to do...

Liz has given me the opportunity to do the Christmas Mime but I don't think I'm going to do it. I have a crazy schedule as it is. I thought I was busy in September but I was wrong, this is busy! We are spending an average of 10 hours a week at church. And 6 of those hours is play practices! The other 4 is just regular church services. Then you add in 6 hours of bball practice a week, soon to be more when start having games. Even though I'm not practicing I'm still there for most of the practices. Plus Bobby and Courtney are working at the flower shop with Uncle Steve.

It's too bad I can't get my permit. With everything that's going on with my knee I probably won't be able to get my permit until December. I pray I get to play bball in December. We have a tournament in Claude that I really really want to play in. Nicole goes to school there and it would be awesome if we got to play against each other. That would just be cool. Maybe Courtney will get her drivers license soon. It would be helpful.

D-Now and Thoughts on Marriage

D-Now was really good this weekend. I learned a lot. The whole weekend was about purity, Joel was the speaker. He did a very good job I thought. It really made me think. On Friday night we washed each others feet. It was awesome! Robbie went around and washed every ones feet and then he gave us the opportunity to wash each other's feet. It was soo cool!

We had our church fall festival on Sunday so all the youth group worked it. That was our mission for the weekend. It was really cold. So Brittney and I were shivering because we were doing tattoos. Our hands were really cold from putting them in the water. But other than that it was a good weekend.

I got to see Courtney on Sunday. It's been fun having her live with us. I'm so glad she came. She is doing OK on the bball team. She just has to get in shape and she'll be awesome.

Lately everyone (well not everyone but quite a few people) have been teasingly telling me that in 5 or 10 years I'm going to marry this one guy. They are teasing me and being serious at the same time. But I don't think I will. Just because somebody finds you interesting doesn't mean that you have enough of a relationship to base the rest of your life together on. That's Disney movie thinking. Granted it would be hilarious if I wound up marrying him, but I don't think it's going to happen. I mean God may plan for me to marry someone else. I'm only 17 and while it would be nice to know who I'm going marry, God doesn't work like that. I think that if we knew in advance, we wouldn't grow into the people we need to be. If we already knew everything we were going to go through, there would be no point of living. If you think about it, life would be very boring. So God knew what He was doing when he made us to live in the present only.

So I think for now I'm just going to be friends with boys. There's no point in getting too emotionally involved at this age. It's just a waste of time and energy, that could be spent on better things. Like doing what God wants me to do. I need to focus on that right now.

Weekend

This weekend is crazy! There are so many things going on in our family. Courtney is moving here and my parents have to go pick her up in OKC tomorrow. Aunt Laura is going to Michigan until Monday so Uncle Steve needs Bobby's help with the kids this weekend. And I'm going to D-Now at our church this weekend. Bobby would be going too if Uncle Steve didn't need him. So it's crazy.
I almost wish I wasn't going to D-Now because I don't get to see Courtney until Sunday. But I'll survive. I know God wants me to go to D-Now, but I kind of wish I could go with my parents and pick up Courntey. I'll just have to trust God and know that He knows what he's doing.

Meet Me at Luigi's

Bobby and I are doing a dinner theater for our church. It's called meet me at Luigi's. The cast is 15 teenagers and 2 adults. It's definitely going to be fun. Bobby is playing the nerdy science kid. Well he's not too nerdy, he just always knows the answers to the scientific questions. The Part is perfect for him. He read half of a line and everybody busted out laughing and Liz gave him the part. I'm playing the flaky waitress, who is also the daughter of Luigi. So I'm practicing being clueless. I think I may be practicing too well because lately I keep forgetting what I'm saying or what I meant to say. We might be doing the Christams play as well. That will be interesting.

Boredom

For being a "cripple" I sure am getting around. I have play practice 3 times a week, I'm putting together photo pages for the bball website, trying to do school, trying to be helpful ( I'm not doing very well at that I'm afraid), and now I'm in the Christmas play. I'm very busy for someone who has trouble getting around.

I'm ready to burn or bury or somehow destroy those stupid crutches! They are very annoying!! And I'm also sick of the knee immobilizer! I will be so glad when I can finally get rid of them. It's kind of getting annoying when people come up and say " oh what happened?"

I mean don't get me wrong, I know they are just trying to be nice and I appreciate that. But after the 30Th time someone comes up and asks that I'm ready to get a bullhorn and just announce it to the whole world " I DISLOCATED MY KNEE CAP PLAYING BASKETBALL OK!!" *sigh* I think this time of annoyance is probably from me being left to myself during the day with nothing to do. I mean I could be doing something productive, but I don't. Yet another thing I need to work on. It seems lately that a lot of things have come to my attention that I need to work on, for example: Being more productive and not so stinkin' lazy! Growing up which means facing and thinking about things in a more mature way, doing the things I know I should and not doing the things I know I shouldn't. It's all very frustrating,

Courtney will be here in 4 days!! YAY!! Maybe she can help kick me in gear. I hope so, cause I need some help!

My dumb knee

On Tuesday at bball practice, I dislocated my kneecap...again. This is the 3rd time I have done it. So now my parents are making me go to the doctor. I do not like doctors. It's nothing against them personally. I think it's great that people can get help with their medical problems. But personally for me, I don't like them. They always find a reason to stick a needle in me. And I HATE needles!! I guess you could say I have a phobia of needles, and maybe doctors too.

Maybe this is God trying to teach me to trust him more. Cause I'm not the best at that. But if it is why did he have to pick one of my biggest fears? Couldn't he have done taught me some other way? I guess that's a stupid question to ask since He's God and knows everything. I'd probably not get the point if it had been something else. Just please pray that I have peace and that nothing is seriously wrong with my knee.

The JB

Practice went well yesterday. Nobody threw up, and really there was no gasping for breathe. Coach just had us station drills which isn't too hard. The rest of practice went well also. We have almost every body back this season, except for the seniors obviously. So we should do OK this year. We have a tall team this year (for once!!).
There are 5 girls altogether that are considered tall. We'll probably all be posts.

I cannot wait for Courtney to move here!! She'll be here in about a week and a half!!
She is also going to play bball with us. It should interesting. So now instead of talking on the phone all the time, I'll be talking to her in person all the time. She really like the Jonas Brothers, so they are a common topic of interest. We are probably going to the Dallas/Fort Worth area for Thanksgiving because that's where my mom's family lives. And I found out that the JB ( A.K.A the Jonas Brothers) are playing the half time show for the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving. It's almost impossible to get tickets to the game, but Courtney was just excited about being in the same city as them. I told her she was crazy. I said I would probably be excited if it was the same room, but the same city? I mean, seriously! She needs to find a boy that she can actually talk to. Instead of some boy she can only listen too. the jonas brothers Pictures, Images and Photos

the first day of basketball

basketball Pictures, Images and Photos

Basketball starts today! It will be interesting to see how it goes. Most of the girls have been playing volleyball so they will be in shape, but those of us that don't play any other sports will probably be gasping for air most of practice. I just hope I don't throw up.

Bobby also starts practice today. He can't even stretch without going outbursts like " ouch! This hurts!" or " dude I'm out of shape!" Hopefully he doesn't tear a muscle today. That would stink for him.

Aunt Laura has tendency to go around the house singing nonsense songs, well most of them are nonsense. They rest are just songs that she has changed to the words too. It's quite amusing.

Movie night

Last night we rented some movies. We got The Ultimate Gift and The Illusionist. First we watched the Ultimate gift. It's a good movie. I cried several times. Especially in the parts with Emily, the little girl who is dying of leukmia. It was kind of sad. But it's still a good movie. tonight we'll probably watch the Illusionist. It looks interesting.

Burned Biscuits

Last night was very.... interesting. Brittney, Ashton, and Holden all talked. Brittney talked about how we need to be patient. Ashton talked about not conforming to the world, and Holden talked about not giving in to peer pressure. They all did pretty good.
When I told the Eric and Holden about Courtney moving here they didn't respond the way Courtney wanted them too. They were both like" oh really? that's cool. She's cool." So now they are OK with her coming. I think it's funny.

So today I fixed lunch for the little people. I was making mini pizza's, so i was making biscuits and i accidentally burned them. I didn't burn them bad, they were just a little browner than what they should be. But the smoke detector went off and Kaytie and Nate ran out on the Balcony cause of the noise. When it stopped they came back in and Kaytie said to me " Thanks for burning out school Lizzie." And she keeps bringing it up! While they were eating she said to me " Now I know how to make mini pizza's. You get biscuits, burn them ( aunt Laura had to cover her mouth and walk away so she didn't bust out laughing) and then put tomato sauce and cheese on them." I guess that's what she'll always remember me for, burning the biscuits.

The Adventures of Elizabeth and Jane

Courtney and I are (sort of) writing a book. It's called The Adventures of Elizabeth and Jane. The names Elizabeth and Jane come from Pride and Prejudice. Her personality is a lot like Elizabeth Bennet's and mine is like Jane's personality, so we are basically writing fictional stories about us. I think we are going to name Deanna, Kitty or Kat for the book it depends on what works best. We haven't gotten far into the book. We've almost got the first 2 pages done. Here is an excerpt:

We finally gained the porch, the only quite place in the entire house. But what did you really expect when you cram that many people in so small of a place? With the adults talking in the kitchen and the boys playing video games in the living room the porch was our absolute last resort. Not that the porch was something to sneeze at, most of our greatest adventures started (or ended) here. Like for instance the great dumpster escapade four years ago, or how about the massive sled incident last Christmas, but lets not forget my personal favorite the tree climbing accident which took place two years ago in June. All of these have a common factor and that is the great masterminding took place on this very porch. So if trouble was going to take place it would start here.

With very little ceremony we went right to work. We had all the usual suspects, Jane our elected spokes person to the parents and conscience (should our ideas get too out of hand), Deanna our make-up artist and music consultant (even though she doesn’t like the Jonas Brothers, but we don’t hold that against her) and of course myself, being Elizabeth, head evil thought producer and creative genius (and yes that is my actual title!). We set about seeing what kind of constructive (or destructive) activities we could find to amuse ourselves. After the sled incident we could no longer convince the boys to go anywhere near something even resembling a sled so that was out, unfortunately, but we had managed to find a couple of tennis rackets and a golf ball and that was all the encouragement we needed.

Now that she's moving here it will be easier to write it. Because it really is difficult to write a book long distance.

Church tonight will be interesting. Robbie is out of town. He went on the Mission trip to Mexico. So did Melanie, so I guess that I will have to call my dad when we are through with church. I wonder who's preaching tonight? I guess I'll find out.

She's Moving!!

YAY!!! I'm SOOOO EXCITED!!! Courtney is moving HERE in three weeks!!!!!! I can't wait!! It's going to be so much fun! She is moving earlier so she can play basketball with us. It's going to be awesome! My dad is going to go pick her up in OKC. I don't get to go though because that is the same weekend as D-now. But that's ok because that leaves more room in the van for her stuff. ha ha.

Mime and B-day

Mime went well this weekend. We had 3 performances, one on Saturday night and two on Sunday morning. I only messed up in little ways. I don't think I messed up in the last one though. One of the guys in the mime was shaking in his solo on Saturday night. But he did OK. Putting the make up on was kind of a hassle though. We had to be careful not to get it on our shirts. White make up and black shirts just don't mix.

On Sunday we were all glad that it was over and that none of us messed up too bad. I lost my voice on Friday so the whole weekend I sounded either like i was going through puberty or a cricket on helium. It was annoying. Everyone kept saying to me " well at least you're a mime." The first couple times it was funny, but after about the tenth time it was annoying.

My b-day went well too. There were 18 teenagers and who knows how many adults. We played basketball for a while. It was boys on girls. The boys beat us. Before the game i had set my earrings and my glasses on a air conditioning unit that was on the side. During the game a ball went wild and hit the unit and my glasses broke and I lost an earring. Which kind of stinks cause it was one of the earrings Courtney gave me.

After the ball game most of us went inside and played apples to apples. That was definitely interesting. Then I opened my presents and ate cake. I got a lot of really cool things. I got about $105 worth in gift cards, and $65 in cash. And I got several pairs of earrings and a couple of necklaces. And then after I opened my gifts we played spoons. Nobody got killed thankfully. Ha Ha.

Then about that time people started leaving. So all in all it was a good birthday. Except for me not really being able to talk. That did get annoying. But other than that it was awesome!

(side note: I didn't get my purity ring because when mom and dad went to go pick it up, they saw that it was not the right one so the guy had to reorder my ring. I should get it today)

Birthday

Yesterday I got my birthday presents from Courtney. They are awesome!!! There were four and I had to read the notes that went with them before I could open them. I love her sense of humor. You can tell our dads were brothers. The first gift was a book called For Young Women Only. It's really good. I definitely don't know as much about guys as I thought I did. I also got a bookmark with the book.
The second gift was a mix CD with songs that we both like and have inside jokes about. The third was a pair of earrings and a necklace that she mad for me! They are awesome! The necklace is a heart that has a ragged line down the middle. The earrings are spirals. Both the earrings and the necklace are made out of silver.
The last present was a sock monkey that she made for me. It came with a tag that said " Hello my name is: Van the Monkey and I'm the perfect boyfriend." I thought it was hilarious! I hope she gets to move here.

My parents are giving me a purity ring for my birthday. I've been wanting one forever it seems like. I got to pick it out yesterday. It's pretty! I'm so excited that my birhtday is tomorrow!! I can't wait! I also have my first mime performance tomorrow. I think it will go well.
